Josefina “Josey” Simpson joined the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) as Director of Membership Services in April 2015. She brings to MCCC extensive experience in customer service, client relations, membership marketing and event management.

Prior to joining the team, Ms. Simpson served her alma mater, the University of Maryland, for seven years. Initially with the Maryland Alumni Association as Director of Alumni Relations for the A. James Clark School of Engineering, then as Associate Director for the Division of University Relations, Office of Special Events. Earlier in her career, she served as Director of Administration and Regional Advertising for Uniglobe Travel MidAtlantic for nine years and as Membership Director for Argyle Land Company, Inc./Argyle Country Club for 13 years.

Ms. Simpson is an active volunteer and has been involved in several community and service organizations. She supports the Terp Vets Student Veterans Organization at the University of Maryland, and is an Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 264 managing logistics for Eagle Scout Courts of Honor, serving the National Capital Area Council since 1999. Ms. Simpson initiated the Adopt-A-Soldier Program with Troop 264 supporting more than 150 military personnel and K-9 units during their deployment. She was an active member of the Belmont PTA, and is an associate member of the MedStar Montgomery Medical Center Women’s Board.

Ms. Simpson has been nominated for the Above and Beyond Effort Award, Microsoft/USO Salute to the Troops Program, America’s Army Strength of the Nation Award, and for the ATHENA Award sponsored by the Olney Chamber of Commerce honoring women for their “dedication of self and generosity of spirit” in the Olney-Sandy Spring community.

Ms. Simpson earned a bachelor’s degree from the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park, with a major in Marketing. She and her husband are longtime residents of Montgomery County, and their son is an Eagle Scout and a Class of 2015 Terp.
