They will be up and running by September 2016. The economic strategy is seen as a guiding document to express shared goals as a community. The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy is informed by data. There has been a lot of participation and, most recently, the Economic Development Corporation board has provided input. The draft will be posted on April 1.
Ms. Qi walked through some highlights of the findings including a SWOT analysis. Montgomery County is a community of contrasts. The vision is that it is a global magnet for creative companies, technologies and people. The overarching goals of the strategy are around business vitality, talent, creative economies, and place making.
Government needs to be an active participant in realizing these goals.
