MCCC 57th Annual Dinner: MCCC Celebrates Metro Maryland’s Business Leaders
Rockville, MD – On Thursday, June 9, 2016, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) welcomed over 800 business and government leaders to its 57th Annual Dinner, held at the Bethesda North Marriott and County Conference Center. The dinner inaugurated the Board of Directors and honored the leaders who strengthen our business environment.
“Today, we literally put the best of Metro Maryland on stage as we celebrate leadership and innovation!” said MCCC President and CEO Georgette ‘Gigi’ Godwin. “MCCC’s mission is to accelerate member success. We lead, advocate, and connect as the voice of business.”
MCCC’s newly elected Board of Directors took the oath of office, pledging to continue to advance this mission.
During the passing of the torch ceremony, Immediate Past Chair Jerry Shapiro, President, Shapiro & Duncan, Inc., passed the Chair of the Board position on to Jim Young, Vice President, Corporate Facilities, Services and Real Estate, Marriott International, Inc.
Dusty Rood, President, Rodgers Consulting, Inc., was also welcomed as the new Chair-Elect.
As part of the awards program, MCCC also recognized five leaders who make significant contributions to building a strong business environment in Montgomery County and beyond:

Government leaders who provided remarks included Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Congressman John Delaney, Maryland Secretary of Commerce Mike Gill, and Montgomery County Executive Ike Leggett.
Prior to the awards ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to network with each other at the MCCC Board of Directors Reception, sponsored by Rodgers Consulting, Inc., and the MCCC General Reception, sponsored by CohnReznick LLP.
