What is the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP)?

VIP is a 6-session comprehensive certification program for veteran businesses to increase their ability to win government contracts by establishing best business practices. An initiative of the
Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCCF), VIP is designed by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce GovConNet program. VIP launched on September 10, 2009.

Who is eligible for the VIP program?

Eligible applicants 1) must be a veteran business owner, principal or C-level executive for a veteran-business owned company 2) in business for at least 2 years with a minimum of 3-4 full time employees; 3) has experience working on government contracts as a prime and/or sub-contractor to a prime; and 4) with 2009 annual revenues less than $25 million. VIP enrollment is not limited to Montgomery County businesses.

How much does it cost?

Fully funded by the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation and VIP sponsors, the program is at no cost to participants. 


How many applicants will be enrolled in the VIP?

Class size is limited to 35-40 individuals.

Dates: September 7, September 21, October 5, October 19, November 2, November 16
Time: 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Location: The Clark Building, 7500 Old Georgetown Road, 16th Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814

You can register for the VIP Program by filling out this form
online. Applicants will be notified within 4 weeks of registration.

Top executives from professional service companies will be leading the VIP program. Executives from Aronson & CompanyC2 PortfolioCatapult Technology, Cordia Partners, Design to DeliveryLockheed Martin, Mountaintop Marketing Group LLC, Piliero Mazza PLLC, The Insurance Exchange Inc., Technology and Business Solutions, Venable LLP, and Watkins, Meegan, Drury & Company LLC will be participating in this program.

What is GovConNet?
